Customer Reviews

For those of us who have been doing yoga for years and want a still challenging but adaptable vinyasa yoga practice to do during pregnancy this is fabulous. Most pregnancy yoga DVDs treat you like you will break and you get a nice stretch and relaxation, but this one will help keep you fit.

This is a great Prenatal Yoga DVD for anyone determined to practice yoga while pregnant, I have been practicing off and on for a few years, but when I found out I was expecting I knew I had to do something to stay fit and maintain a healthy stress level. This video is put together very well and gives examples of different difficulty levels to meet all needs. It’s easy to follow along and I feel extremely comfortable doing all of the poses demonstrated. Thanks! I wish I could find more like this!

I love this prenatal yoga DVD! It has long and short forms depending on how much time you have or how tired you may feel. It’s very soothing and calming while also getting a nice workout. I strongly recommend this one.

  1. Christine Porter

This is the first pregancy yoga video I’ve found that is rigorous enough to keep me in yoga shape – both body and mind – through all 3 trimesters. Even my non-pregnant sister found it challenging enough to do it with me.

It is long, but you can stop whenever you want, of course.

I love the instructor and her routine here so much, that I’m hoping to find other ‘regular’ yoga videos from her for post-pregnancy. Very peaceful and flowing, without being patronizing or annoying.

If you haven’t done yoga before, this will be a tough introduction, but if you pay close attention to her breathing instructions and watch it once through, and are relatively fit, I think it would be good for you too.

  2. Craighat

Bought this for our niece and she was just thrilled by the program presented on the DVD. Best Christmas present we could have imagined.

  3. Blue Lotus

So, I am not the fittest person in the world but I have been doing yoga for a few years leading up to this pregnancy. I have only been using the 30 minute, short form practice from this DVD. I have tried the 45 minute but have found it frankly too vigorous for me and too long, most days. The short forms are nice and offer excellent modifications for all three trimesters. I am currently 7 months pregnant and rotate this into my routine generally once per week. I think the stretching has kept a lot of pregnancy aches and pains away that I would usually be experiencing during this time. The instructor is quiet, calm, gives EXCELLENT breathing instructions (if you have a large DVD library of Yoga videos you’ll appreciate how important this is). This is NOT an easy practice, but if you are someone with previous yoga experience and you want something to keep you moving, this is the DVD for you.

  4. Renee Abu-Ghaben

This video is for experienced yogis. I’m in my 1st trimester, and this video kicked my tush. I usually attend a vinyasa class 3x/wk, and really missed it. This video offered the “edge” that I was looking for, not just stretching, and easy modifications for later trimesters. Instructor also explains why certain poses are beneficial.

  5. chelsea hadfield

I am very impressed! Best Christmas gift! Very informative and even explains how poses will help in moving the baby naturally as well as pressure points to be aware of! Well worth the money!!

  6. A Custor

This set focuses mainly on the lower body (legs) naturally considering this is a pre-natal work out. She incorporates 2 models in the routine, both in different trimesters, to help you acclimate to the workout based on your stage of pregnancy. Also gives you different time elements ….15 mins workout, 30 mins workout, and 45 minute work out.

  7. M. Graves

I have been practicing power yoga for about 15 years, and found that a lot of pre-natal workouts didn’t really challenge me at all (With the exception of the Suzanne Bowen Barre workout. Yeesh!) . I usually do yoga twice a week and when I do it I want to DO IT. Rather than just breathing and stretching alone, I like to work my muscles and work out all the cricks and cracks. This one is right on par with what I’ve been doing, but with modifications for a pregnant belly. Perfect!

  8. S. Berg

“I enjoy challenging workouts. I tried a handful of prenatal yoga videos before discovering this one, but I disliked most of them because they didn’t feel challenging. They tended to focus mainly on stretching and relaxation. This one is different in that it challenges you with plenty of lunges, squats, and other poses intended to tone. This is in addition to stretching and relaxation.

Two other things I LOVED about this DVD set: (1) The instructor provides tips about poses that can help you alleviate specific aches and pains, and even be helpful during labor and delivery. (2) The varying “”short form”” options. I usually tried to make time for the full 75-minute workout, but it was nice to have shorter options available. I figured I could always squeeze in just 15-minutes at least (even if I was busy or felt tired), so the short options really helped to keep me on track.”

  9. Annie

“I’m used to doing Bikram yoga, which is one of the more intense kinds of yoga. I love that it’s a 90 minute workout and a 90 minute meditation all in one. Although Bikram has pregnancy modifications and they say it is safe to continue for regular practitioners, I didn’t feel comfortable with the heat after finding out I was pregnant. However, I did want to keep up with a regular yoga routine, as I want my body to be healthy and to prepare for labor.

After first learning I was pregnant, I ordered a prenatal yoga dvd right away. I ordered it based on the reviews, and the fact that it provides different routines based on specific symptoms. I regretted this purchase immediately after following one routine. It was not a workout. It did not increase my heart rate, at all. It barely stretched my hips, which doesn’t do much for preparing my body for labor. It did not make me sweat. It actually did nothing aside from making me feel incredibly tired, and I already have debilitating fatigue to begin with. I decided after one use of that dvd that I needed to find something that was for EXPERIENCED yogis.

After reading the reviews, I decided this was the right dvd for me. So far, I’ve only done the 30 minute routine (I wanted to ease myself into it, since I haven’t done yoga in a few weeks). This is exactly what I was looking for. Even in 30 minutes, I felt like I was burning calories, my heart rate was up, it stretched out my tight hips, and gave me lots of energy. All while being relaxing!

The reason I say this is perfect for experienced yogis: In all yoga, and especially with a fragile pregnant body, it is so important to do each pose CORRECTLY. It wasn’t that long ago that I was a beginner, and I know it took me a couple of months to truly understand the proper form on a lot of the more difficult poses. It is more important to make the necessary modifications and do the pose properly than to do it improperly and go into the full extension. I think a lot of beginners have difficulty with this. You need to know your body and know which poses you are able to achieve, and make modifications where necessary. I will not say beginners can’t do these routines, I would just advise that you really listen to the instruction, make sure you aren’t turning your hips, arms, neck, etc. in a way that you aren’t supposed to, and you should be okay!”

Bought this as a christmas present for my sister-in-law and she loves it. I read reviews that even yoga instructors will choose this one when they get pregnant.

  11. HipMomma

I wanted something that would help me with stretching as my body grows and changes with being pregnant. This DVD does just that. I don’t care about being perfectly fit and toned while pregnant, but I had my first two all natural and plan to go the same route with this third one. I figured some yoga and meditation would only compliment my 9 month journey. I’m no yoga expert, but I like this approach and found the instructions were helpful and not intimidating. I absolutely LOVE that there are options: 15 minutes, 30 minutes, or 45 minutes!

  12. Samantha

“I am so happy I bought this. I’ve been doing yoga for 15 years, the last four years I’ve been obsessed with hot yoga. I was very upset when my Dr. told me no hot yoga during my pregnancy. I was so happy when I first got this DVD because it gave me back my yoga practice.

    Pros:
1-Multiple classes of various length. My favorites are the full 75 minute class and the 45 minute class. But when time is tight, I can throw it on for 30 min.
2-Partner yoga – focused on getting your partner ready to assist in your comfort measures during labor.
3-Labor poses – to help you make a birth plan.
4-Squats, Squats, and more Squats – definitely great prep for labor.
5-All levels are clearly explained. If you want to challenge yourself you know what to do. If you need to take it easy you know what to do.

    Cons:
1 – It’s a DVD. So I can’t have it on my tablet or phone. I actually took my laptop to the Dominican Republic so I could do my yoga.”

  13. Luis Montalvo Sierra

I truly enjoyed this entire DVD set! It has 75, 15, 30, and 45 plus some education on labor poses. There are a lot of modifications for each trimester which I really appreciated the demonstration of. I am not a regular yoga person, I had done it maybe 10 times before doing these DVD’s so I found it challenging at first but now I got the hang of it. I think you can make adjustments to make it easier or more challenging for yourself. Overall, I am so happy with my purchase!

  14. jessica

Awesome for those looking for a variety in their times for practice. Not super complicated. Poses are easy if you have expierence in vinyasa. Shipped and received on time!

  15. suziqk10

I did this 2-3 times a week until I was about 7+ months pregnant (then I just started to feel too big and uncomfortable). It’s a great workout and perfect if you’ve been doing yoga before pregnancy. I found most other prenatal yoga DVDs to be too easy and too focused on solely stretching and breathing. You will definitely feel the burn with this one. The directions are easy to follow, and her voice is calming (even while you’re dripping sweat in a sumo squat). Love it!

  16. cobaby

This is no wimpy prenatal yoga flow and that’s what makes it awesome! This is perfect for ladies who were very active pre-preg and during preg. The flows are definitely intermediate/advanced yoga skill level. For referenece I was mostly running pre-preg as well as Les Mills, Insanity, and Turbofire so I wanted a challenege but with modifications. The quality is probably getting a little out of date but who cares. The music is pleasant and best of all are the options: 15, 30, 45, and 75mins. I thought I’d get bored but I look forward to it by changing up which version I do every other day and this is my second pregnancy that I’ve used it. Nothing about this dvd set annoys me. Jennifer explains well and gives cues at the perfect time. She has a soothing voice that’s not fake. Highly recommend if you want a challenge and a great stretch!

  17. B

I have a good amount of yoga experience, although I’ve been out of practice for a bit. I was so excited to get back into yoga, but really worried that switching to prenatal yoga would mean the end of a vigorous practice and I’d be relegated to breathing and light stretching. Not so! I’m so glad to have found this DVD! It’s a fairly vigorous practice, but you can choose to do the short forms if you are short on time or still building up. Yes, there are a lot of lunges, but I am not bothered by that (my quads are, but they will get stronger!). Overally, I think it is a must have if you love vinyasa or any of the vigorous forms of yoga (Ashtanga, etc.).

  18. Colles Price

I am convinced this helped my labor & delivery!

  19. Katie

This is a great DVD that will actually keep you in shape throughout pregnancy. As indicated by both DVDs in the set, these programs are designed for people who have practiced yoga for at least three months prior to starting. They are rigorous and long, but you don’t have to do the whole disk every time! While they will get you sweating, I have never felt like I was overexerting myself. There are variations for each trimester of pregnancy. I would definitely recommend these DVDs for anyone who wants to continue with yoga practice throughout (and after!) pregnancy!

  20. BDavis

I’m now using these videos on my 2nd pregnancy and continue to love them! There are a range of practices from 15 min to a full 70 min class which I loved. It felt easy enough for a beginner but as someone who routinely did yoga before getting pregnant I still found it to be a great workout.

The relaxation/meditation is also an absolutely fabulous tool. I listen to it when I can’t fall asleep and it does the trick every time!
    I HIGHLY recommend these disks!

  21. ferrous_cherry

I’ve tried yoga maybe three times, it just never clicked for me before. But friends kept telling me it was great for their pregnancies, so I decided to invest in a DVD instead of a clas$$. I’m in my first pregnancy and normally active (marathon, dance), but I can’t run the distances I used to and need other workouts to keep me feeling healthy. I’m also new to working out at home, these days I just don’t have the time or energy to drive to the gym.

This DVD is wonderful, I credit this for keeping my back and calves from hurting as I gain weight (I definitely feel those parts when I skip this workout). More’s verbal instructions are clear and easy to follow. If you are somewhat active, you’ll be fine. This is my easy day workout; I use Suzanne Bowen’s Slim and Toned Prenatal Barre DVD for moderate workouts. I’m running for hard days. Between the DVDs and running, I feel fantastic and mobile. Will update review if I feel the yoga affected labor and delivery.

  22. Rachel

Just what I was looking for! Perfectly modified for pregnancy & still a fulfilling workout! As a bonus it has an amazing shivasna at the end!!

  23. Noelle Goffinet

Loved this! Great pace, lots of modifications if needed. The end is wonderfully relaxing to help destress and connect with your baby. Best buy!

  24. Susan H

I wish I could say that I spent more time exploring all of the workouts on this DVD set but haven’t. I do however do the 15 and 30 minute routines a couple times a week and find it very helpful to reduce back and joint pain brought on my pregnancy.

  25. Lydia Salnikova

“Here is the gist: this is a great and versatile DVD set, offering quite a workout to experienced yoga students during pregnancy, while also giving them peace of mind that they won’t venture into any territory unsafe for baby. I’ve practiced yoga for 13+ years and I found every routine on the DVDs challenging enough. My favorite are actually the short forms – 15-, 30- and 45-minute segments, which are easy to integrate into a busy day.

The only drawbacks for me have to do with production value – and, while annoying, they are bearable. Besides, I am a musician, so this part would only be relevant to the minority of users. On the full 75-minute routine, the clip-on mic of the instructor has issues with the cord, which causes it to cut out occasionally with a very loud crack. Distracting, but a nuisance. On the short forms, the soundtrack is a bit too loud in relation to the voice instructions, which wouldn’t be so bad if the acoustic guitar or the violin were even remotely in tune… Again, this won’t be an issue for everyone, but musicians – you have been warned!

To reiterate though, I am very glad I bought this DVD set and I feel great about practicing prenatal yoga well into the later stage of my pregnancy. So I would definitely recommend this product.”

  26. Meleah Izzo

I was a very active person prior to becoming pregnant with twins, and was very happy to learn that I could continue to exercise during the pregnancy. After reading reviews, I felt compelled to order this DVD as yoga is one of my very favorite workouts. I have not been disappointed. There are several different yoga practices to choose from (15, 30, 45, and 75 mins), and all work your body in different ways. At the beginning of my pregnancy, I was able to do the 75 minute practices, but as my body continues to grow I’ve slowed down to the 30 minute practice. It still makes me feel wonderful, and I look forward to continue following this practice for the rest of the pregnancy (and most likely after, too!). Highly recommend this DVD to anyone who loves yoga and is looking for a good prenatal workout.

  27. Ickus89

Hi all, I usually do not write reviews, but I was so excited about this DVD I had to share! My background is in exercise physiology/physical therapy, as well as, a NASM PT and 500hr RYT yoga instructor. I am also in my first pregnancy. If you are a current practitioner of vinyasa flow, ashtanga, power yoga or a similar style this DVD is definitely for you. It offers 15min-75min practices that provide a safe, but challenging flow sequence. Offering stability, as well as flexibility without being too aggressive to our rapidly changing bodies ESP connective tissues and joints. However, do not shy away if you are new. I would simply follow the instructor for her options for beginners. It also shows modifications for all trimesters. Wonderful content and instruction. It is a bit more low budget than some DVDs, however it does not compromise the content. I couldn’t say enough positive things, especially after being disappointed with many other prenatal DVDs that simply were too limiting. Namaste my friends, god bless and hope you all have a wonderful pregnancy!!!

  28. Rima

This set is so easy and convenient. I am more likely to do yoga when I have the option to do 15 or 30 min workouts because I am often time constrained. When you have more time, there are sets for 45 and 75 minutes (which I admit I have not yet done the 75 min yoga). I feel really good after this yoga workout and it accommodates all trimesters! I do not usually write reviews, but honestly, this is the only workout I do besides walking and occasional elliptical and I feel like it has been a lifesaver for me. I highly recommend it!

  29. Adrian Hogel

I have been practicing Power Vinyasa yoga for over 12 years. I have a subscription to Yogaglo and Yogisanonymous so that I can practice in my home studio, and have tried various prenatal classes and instructors. This DVD is the perfect balance of challenging standing postures, moving with the breath, much-needed squatting and hip-opening, and relaxing seated postures. I am currently 38 weeks pregnant and still doing the short forms 4-5x per week. The 45-minute practice is my favorite. Yes, you do need to be experienced to participate, but most days it is exactly the level of difficulty and pace I am looking for. On days when I have less energy or just want a “chill” practice, I do one of the Level 2 prenatal classes on Yogaglo.

  30. ashrose

I practiced hatha yoga for 3 years, and when i found out i was pregnant i could not continue doing hot yoga on a regular basis. This prenatal vinyasa yoga dvd is absoultey perfect for someone who has experience practicing yoga and for someone who doesn’t. The instructions are clear and after the workout i my muscles are nice and loose and i feel amazing. I love this video, and love there is a long practice and three short forms, and love that she shows some poses to help during labor. I recommend this DVD,

  31. Pinar Omur

This is a good DVD for pregnant ladies who are already practicing yoga and want to stay in shape with a reasonable intensity workout during pregnancy. I love the shorter options, gives me the flexibility to fit it in my schedule.

  32. D Preble

For those of us who have been doing yoga for years and want a still challenging but adaptable vinyasa yoga practice to do during pregnancy this is fabulous. I kind of wish that there were more sessions as I got a little bored with the same series – but it definitely kept me challenged through to middle of 3rd trimester (when i became so swollen I could no longer bend my knees and had to stop). Most pregnancy yoga DVDs treat you like you will break and you get a nice stretch and relaxation, but this one will help keep you fit.

  33. Veronica C. Rooney

I love this prenatal yoga DVD! It has long and short forms depending on how much time you have or how tired you may feel. It’s very soothing and calming while also getting a nice workout. I strongly recommend this one.

  34. Roonie

This is a great Prenatal Yoga DVD for anyone determined to practice yoga while pregnant, I have been practicing off and on for a few years, but when I found out I was expecting I knew I had to do something to stay fit and maintain a healthy stress level.
